Stern Grove Festival's 70^th Season kicked off with the rock and R&B of Huey Lewis and the News. One of America's most popular pop/rock bands, the group shot to stardom with multi-platinum albums and numerous Top Ten hits like "The Power of Love," "If This Is It," and "Stuck With You."

The Paul Thorn Band opened the beautiful afternoon with gospel and blues infused music. Thorn has toured with artists such as Sting, Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, Marianne Faithfull, and John Prine.

Huey Lewis, on harmonica, joined him on stage for Paul’s final number.

Today’s performance was dedicated to the memory of Rosalie M. Stern, donor of Sigmund Stern Grove to the people of San Francisco and founder of the Stern Grove Festival Association.
